Cursor cloud agents can now run on your own infrastructure
Cursor says its cloud agents can now run on customer infrastructure, including machine pools that scale automatically with demand.
Cursor announced that its cloud agents can now run on a customer's own infrastructure, including pools of machines that scale automatically with demand. The company shared the news in a post on X.
According to Cursor, the point is to give agents access to internal services or specialized hardware. The agent loop itself stays in Cursor, so the execution environment moves while the orchestration remains inside the product.
Why it matters
Coding agents running on an external cloud struggle with tasks that need private databases, internal APIs or specific accelerators. Running them on your own machines puts that access in the same environment as the agent. Auto-scaling pools reduce manual capacity handling for teams running many agents at once.
The announcement came as a short post. It does not mention pricing, which cloud providers or deployment models are supported, or which subscription tiers include the feature. Further details are available in Cursor's post.
