An engineer's account: Claude Code writes everything on the team
A quotation collected by Simon Willison describes a workplace where specs, code, tests, tickets and reports are all produced with Claude Code.
On 20 September 2026 Simon Willison posted a quotation from a user called "voxium" on his blog. The author says they started a new role at a big company half a month earlier and describes how work is organised there.
According to the account, "nobody knows anything" at the company: specs, code, tests, PRDs, tickets and the resolution of those tickets, reports, everything is made by Claude Code. The writer says nobody on the team likes this, yet everyone is pushed to ship as much as possible.
"Pushing code is not a bottleneck"
Another detail concerns management. The writer says they have heard several times from higher management that pushing code is not a bottleneck, so why is the team slow. People work 12 to 13 hours a day, much of it spent just pressing enter, and nobody is reading anything.
The closing line is about seniority losing its meaning: from an L1 to an L7 engineer, the writer says, everyone is doing the same thing, talking to Claude.
