Guangzhou-based **XPeng** says it has commissioned automated production lines for its humanoid robots. According to the company's filing, the first of its next-generation **IRON** robots completed assembly on the line and then **walked off it on its own**. XPeng frames this as the move from research-and-development prototyping to line manufacturing.

The lines are described as a system that combines automotive-grade quality processes with the precision manufacturing a humanoid requires. **More than 80% of core processes are automated**, which the company says is what keeps quality consistent on critical steps and makes scaled production possible.

## The timetable

XPeng's sequence: robots enter **mass production by the end of 2026**. The first commercial deployments will be in the company's own stores and campuses. An official market launch, with deliveries in China and overseas, is planned for **2027**.

This is the company's second large step in its robotics arm in a short span. As [we reported on 29 August](https://globalfeed.ai/en/chinese-carmakers-chase-humanoid-robots-as-xpengs-unit-raises-over-900m/), XPeng's humanoid unit had raised more than $900 million. The money raised in that round now appears to have turned into a line.

## Why a line is the news

Humanoid robotics has no shortage of demo videos and very few production lines. A prototype walking on a stage and a robot walking off an assembly line are two different claims: the second one means repeatability, parts supply and consistent quality. The 80% automation figure is the measurable part of that claim.

Everything here comes from the company's own announcement and its stock exchange filing; there is no independent audit of the line and no verified unit count. The mass-production promise is dated to the end of 2026, so the distance between promise and delivery becomes visible over the coming months.
