Google has brought its real-time music model to Flow Music's Spaces: with Lyria RealTime, audio is generated instantly and evolves with every move. Switch a genre, adjust an instrument, and hear the result within seconds.
What sets the model apart is blending multiple text prompts at once: mixing genres, swapping instruments and transforming the mood of the music happen in a single stream, with parameters such as key, tempo and density also under control.
As a starting point, Google suggests remixing its MusicFX DJ space or asking the "producer" for something entirely different. Spaces that users build can be shared by link.
Real-time generation is the step that takes music models out of the "type a prompt, wait, listen" pattern and closer to an instrument - and the natural home for it looks like live performance and trial-and-error production.
