OpenAI has released a version of ChatGPT built for the financial industry. **ChatGPT for Financial Services** sits on top of ChatGPT Work, the company's enterprise product, and runs on **GPT-6 Astra**.

What sets it apart is that the data arrives with the model. The product includes datasets from **Daloopa, PitchBook and LSEG News**: earnings call transcripts, financial statements, company fundamentals and information on private companies. The user does not have to wire the data up separately.

## The work it is aimed at

OpenAI's own framing is that teams can carry out research, build financial models and produce customised client materials. CNBC puts it more plainly: the product targets the work done by **entry-level analysts** at investment banks. Company research, financial data analysis, and putting together pitchbooks.

According to VentureBeat, the system pulls the research itself, cites what it used, and assembles a deck in minutes.

## Two banks as design partners

The product was developed with **Morgan Stanley** and **Evercore**, both named as design partners. That is different from selling software into a sector from outside: the institutions that will use it were in the room while it was built.

## What is not stated

The announcement carries no price. Figures are circulating, but they do not come from OpenAI's own text, so we are not repeating them here. Access is said to open in stages.

One more thing is unclear: the licence terms attached to the bundled datasets, and how an institution's own data is handled inside the system. For financial firms the decision usually turns on exactly that detail, and the announcement does not address it.
