Grok Bot goes shopping with Stripe's Link wallet: a single-use card for every payment
The bot can complete purchases on the user's behalf: every transaction is approved, and no standing card details ever reach the bot. US-only for now - the agent economy at its most tangible.
xAI's Grok Bot has gone shopping: once users connect Link, Stripe's payment wallet, the bot can complete purchases on their behalf across the internet. Both sides announced it from their own accounts; Link's summary is blunt: "Grok Bot can now buy anything on the internet with Link."
The security design is worth noting: every transaction passes through user approval, and the bot receives a secure single-use card for each payment - no standing card details ever reach the bot. The feature is currently open to users in the US, with mobile said to be coming soon.
The step takes Grok Bot - which entered beta with Grok 4.6 in early August with a claim to "long-running agentic work" - into commerce. The ground was ready: this year Stripe expanded its agentic commerce suite through Meta and Google partnerships, announced Link's agent wallet, and published the Agentic Commerce Protocol together with OpenAI. Bots walking to the till with their own card is the agent economy at its most tangible.
